Good long story there. To put it short, it was an idea between myself and my friend and near-sister, Desiree' Powell. Her family and I were close friends, and we loved making webpages. I forget whose idea it was(likely hers), but we decided to come together and make our own web design company. Now that I think of it, it was her idea, because she came up with the name and logo. Shadows WebDesign comes from the fact that that "Shadow" was part of our online names: ShadowDarkFyre and Countess Shadow. (Incidentally, ShadowDarkFyre is also my magickal/spiritual name, and I made it legal in 2001. I donnae' think Desiree' did the same.) Hence, the name. She even designed the logo: using the outline of a Welsh dragon to make the original dual dragons, as well as banners and what I call the "i made this" buttons.
It was a good idea, but like anything, life gets in the way and you get derailed. I fell out of thouch with Desiree' and her family, and began on the long and rough road towards building my own. I did my best to keep that dream going, and even set up shop on the Batcave.net servers as I tried to actually get the business off the ground. In the days leading up to now, a good friend of mine by the name of Fiona MacLeod came aboard as a sometimes-designer for the company. But another sidetrack was waiting in the form of the dual chaos that was Batcave.net: first with their split from 0catch.com and their complete reformat. The latter of which lost me the original site and a few other sites I had designed, along with nearly everything that went with them. I was at least able to save the Domain site, and eventually set it up here at directnic.com, which has shown itself to be a far more stable environment.
After searching around for the dragons and all that Desiree had used, I decided to change things up a bit: give the company a new look. Which, fortunately, only meant finding a new dragon. That's where we came up with the symbols that you see now.(I'm the one in blue). Different look, but the goals are still the same.

Who knows... I just might find Desiree' and bring her back... One can always hope...
