Read on below to see how the Feis went...

Hope to see you at the next one...

Fellow Domani,

Below is an account of the 2006 Feis. We apologize, but we all forgot our cameras. Lamentably so. fortunately, we all have good memories.

Thought I might as well start off with the descriptions as to how Feis Domani 2006 went, as I'm sure some of you are curious. I apologize in advance for no pics and such available for visual description, as all who attended forgot our cameras. Next year, we'll see about having them available. So words will have to do for now. I'm sure that the High Queen, Lord Flint, WiccanStarFairy, and Lady Dame Xanthi, will fill in the blanks.

The Feis took place in Caer Memphis(Memphis, Tennessee USA): Royal court of the Realm of Sil Magra(Kentucky and Tennessee). Lord Flint rules Sil Magra from there, and lives there with WiccanStarFairy and their son, Moon Lightening. They were the hosts for the event. The Imperial Heir, Lord-Apparent Liante, couldnae make it, as something came up last minute. Lady Dame Xanthi and I drove Thursday, September 21st, from Caer Portshire(Port Washington, Saukville, and Fredonia, Wisconsin USA): Royal Court of the Dells(Minnesota and Wisconsin). High Queen Snowaidene travelled by bus from Caer Columbia(Columbia, South Carolina USA), where she administrates the realm of Lumina(North and South Carolina). I had to drive through the night on little sleep to make sure I was there to pick up the High Queen. Good thing I had plenty of caffeine and good music. Xanthi and I arrived at the hotel the following morning. After getting settled I went to pick up Queen Snowaidene. Her bus was late getting in due to an auto incident, but she arrived safe and sound. Despite the stormy weather from both Caer Portshire and Caer columbia, the trip was a relative safe one, with Caer Memphis in the eye of the storm, as it were.

After refreshing ourselves, the three of us finally made our way over to Lord Flint's Den to meet up.(He and Xanthi might as well be clones, folks...) Moon Lightening is quite a charming young man for little more than a year old, and took to the High Queen and Lady Xanthi right away. Later on during the weekend, we'd find out how much of a ladies' man he turned out to be. After awhile, Lord Flint led out out to an Oriental Buffet, where we ate and chatted back and forth. The first day of the Feis was all about fellowship and relaxing, and that's exactly what we did. We went one other place, but I personally will not mention it. If anyone else wants to, let them. Afterwards, we met back at Lord Flint's Den to hang out some more, before calling it a night.

Day Two found us on a beautiful enough morning. We had breakfast in the hotel's restaurant and bar, before heading off to the Den again for the main events and the feast. We pretty much kept things simple, discussing matters of environmental and magickal import: mainly concerning the state of the globe where the increased worry of global warming is concerned.

A tradition that was begun, and will continue throughout every Feis that follows hereafter, was the giving of gifts to the hosts of the Feis. To Lord Flint was given a chrome skull pin, to match the skull that is in the symbology of his House: Nine Death Storms. To WiccanStarFairy, a silver necklace crafted in the shape of a fairy, holding a vial of fairydust. For Moon Lightening, A little pottery cup shaped like a green tiki head. I think it's safe to say they appreciated and enjoyed the gifts.

The re-Knighting ceremony was made into a Knighting Ceremony, in the wake of Liante's absence. Wearing her crown of rule in the Dells - the Circlet of the Tides - Xanthi was knighted by me in the presence of her fellow Domani into the Order of the Untravelled Road, as she has a passion for travelling that is only surpassed by her passion for music. Not to mention having logged many miles in her travells back and forth through her Realm. In addition, it would seem that Moon Lightening has adopted himself as Xanthi's unofficial squire.

A surprise that was also planned was a long-awaited coronation for the High Queen. The SnowCrystal Crown was a crafting that was years in the making, unmaking, and redoing. Made from a pice of jewlery passed down from generations in a family of my recent acquaintance, and given as a gift to House DarkFyre as thanks for help given, the SnowCrystal Crown too a lot to craft and forge. It could be seen that the High Queen thought it beautiful. And, as designed, it set upon her head like a wreath: all in silvery metal and green fabric. It's centerpiece is a silver dragon's head with a blue sphere wrapped within. Also, as part of her coronation, she was given a special katana and matching dagger - with correspondending black wood sheaths - as her sword of rule. It will be delivered to her safely at a later time, as buses are not trustworthy. With nearly everyone wearing their crowns, I was reminded to put on my own. It took awhile to craft the Crown of Deepest Dreaming of fabrics and charms, and it wasnae quite complete, but it fit all the same.

The meal of the night was Lord Flint's signature dish: Sausage Ole' Feel free to ask him for the recipe(ltds105@yahoo.com). The High Queen Loved it. So did Dame Xanthi. I know my brother's cooking, and believe me when I say he kicks ass. (chuckles). Seconds were had of course, and plenty to drink, before making a stop at the Borders Book Store, where we lost ourselves in books and music.(Dangerous when you consider the group in question; got plenty of wondering stares, too. We were still wearing our crowns). Afterwards, we all decided to head back to the hotel to enjoy the swimming pool and hot tub. Queen Snowaidene and WiccanStarFairy chatted in the hot tub, while the rest of us enjoyed ourselves in the pool.(Snowaidene and Xanthi used me for transportation around the pool). Around midnight or so, we went back up to the rooms to sit and hang out a little more, before Flint, WiccanStar, and Moon headed home.

Sunday morning, Snow, Xanthi, and I checked out of the hotel room, and found ourselves a Waffle House for breakfast.(Snowaidene had a craving for waffles.) Afterwards, it was back to the Den to meet up with Flint and Co., before heading off for another few outings. First stop was the neighborhood Penzey's Spices store, where we got high on all the scents.(grins) Next stop was Oak Court Mall, and Wolfchase Galleria later on, for some actual and window shopping, before heading back to the Den to catch a few zs.

The last event of the Feis was the dedication of Lord Flint's medicine wheel, which we all helped as best we can in doing. Flint led the ceremony beautifully. I'll let all others describe what they gifted to the Wheel itself. I gifted the wheel with the song , "Men of Erin" - in memory of all those who have passed on before us - and my own tears, on behalf of House DarkFyre, to one of the stones. When we were done, it was time to scatter. All our things ready, we fellowshiped for a little longer, before finally bidding our goodbyes. Leaving the Den, Xanthi and I took the High Queen to the bus station. I saw my wife off on her way with all my love, before making my way with Lady Xanthi back to the Dells. All in all, our first annual Feis Domani was a success.

And were will the Feis pop up next year? We agreed on one place: FairyStone(Virginia and West Virginia). I'll have to talk with a sister of mine...

Hope you enjoyed the account, folks. Maybe some or all of you can make it next year. Good Dreaming and Blessed Be.
