Dear Visitor,

       On behalf of my nation, I would like to welcome you to the online presence of the Domain and Realms of the Shadows and the Darkness: or just the Domain, for short. You may ask yourself what is the purpose of the Domain. What is the reasoning behind such an undertaking, or the fantasitcal names it incorporates? That is a question that I will do my best to answer here.

       For the sake of magick, faith, and the right to believe as you will.

       Long ago, people believed. People had faith. More then than they do now. Whether they were Christian, pagan, or otherwise, they believed. Magick was a part of everyone's life. Respect for nature and the unknown was paramount. The world itself was a world of wonder. Of belief. Of hope. Of magick.

       Then came progress, and the world was made better. Travel between point A and point B became faster. Thoughts could be communicated around the world in a twinkling. Preservation of food, quality of entertainment, enjoyment of life. All that makes modern-day life enjoyable was brought to pass. Which is good for all. But something was lost in the transfer. A price was paid in the bringing about of the modern age. Something that should have walked hand-in-hand with the modern age, but was somehow left behind.

       That being the magick of simply believing: quite possibly one of the oldest kinds of magick in existance.

       That's where the Domain comes in.

       Is it an overnight thing to achieve? No... Are we the only ones out there working to achieve these and other similar goals? No... It has been said, however, that "A small group of determined individuals can change the world". There are a good number of those groups out there. We're simply here to help tip the scales.

       Nice thing about that is that there's plenty of room on the scales for more to join.

       That quote I used? Thank Margaret Mead for it. Good advice to follow. Changing the world is easy. Even if it's only by a little bit. Throw a pebble into the pond. The ripples flow and thenfade out, but the pond is forever changed. Throw in enough pebbles,... and who knows. So toss a pebble in. Change the world.

       Of course, you're welcome to help us toss pebbles in. We're not everyone's cup of tea. Maybe we're yours. Try us and find out. You might be pleasantly surprised. In either case, believe. Believe in magick. Hang on to your wonder. Never let go of your hope. Face on the ugly parts of the world of magick, for they're just as much a part of Reality as the pretty parts. And pretending they don't exist doesn't do you any good. Between the pretty and the ugly, there is a balance to be kept. Have the faith and the courage to take it all in.

       "There's magick in believing..." Most people don't realize just how powerful that is. We do. That's why it's ouor national motto.
